Acer palmatum 'Hupp's Dwarf' was found as a chance seedling by Barbara Hupp in Oregon. It is a small, deciduous tree that grows to about four to six feet tall in fifteen years. It is hardy in USDA Zones 5 - 9. Our specimen grows in part shade.

'Hupp's Dwarf' is in the Dwarf Group. It is more compact in habit than other dwarf cultivars. New leaves flush pink but age to a deep green. It has bright orange and red fall color. It is a good cultivar for use in bonsai.
